Iliana lost her first pet last night, Rosy the Betta Fish. We committed her to the earth this afternoon in quiet space beside the house.

Iliana made a small burial pouch.

Looking at these pictures later, Iliana wondered why she looked so sad.

We said a few words.

Then we busied ourselves with our morbid task.

Iliana covered and dressed the grave site.

We marked it with a wooden cross. This weekend, we are scheduled to visit the pet store for another betta fish.

We put on our Sunday best to attend my cousin's wedding yesterday. It was a beautiful autumn afternoon and I spent most of it outside hanging out with Mr. Finn. Above, Grandpa takes Finn for a short walk.

He liked the shade of the gazebo. And those fallen leaves make for convenient playthings.

I just returned from another week of shooting in Trinidad and Tobago for Iconologic. My assistant, Dan, made these pictures of me when he wasn't grabbing lenses for me or carrying the gear.

I was there primarily to photograph technology: business entrepreneurs, technology pioneers, scientific education. Above, I'm at a technical training school.

We stepped into the rainforest a bit to get some photography establishing context.

Here we are in the bird sanctuary. Lea is design director.
