A Day at the Playground

We walked over to the playground this afternoon. Melody held Finn while I ran around with Iliana.

She's a champ on the monkey bars.

I actually made this one before we left the house.

We walked over to the playground this afternoon. Melody held Finn while I ran around with Iliana.

She's a champ on the monkey bars.

I actually made this one before we left the house.

I had some pictures in the November issue of Atlanta Magazine. I met with Hector, the design director, for lunch today and he brought a few copies for me.

I had a shoot today for Atlanta Magazine. The story is on Pitty Pat's Porch, a restaurant here in Atlanta. The people who work there are wonderful! Many of them have been employed there for more than twenty years. Morgan assisted me today, and while he was standing in, we decided to have a little fun.

My father-in-law got this recently and wants a big picture of it to hang in his office. We woke up early on the 24th and found a nice spot to photograph it.

Yeah, I've been away from work for a good week now. It's been wonderful to spend so much time with my family. We spent a few nights with Melody's parents and a few with mine. We saw cousins and in-laws, too. We learned that the half-way point between Melody's sister and us is Dublin, GA. Little Finn hangs out on a blanket with me while Melody and her sister talk in the parking lot where we had lunch together.

More specifically, a Ruby Tuesday.

Our house was well-decorated for the holidays, even though we were nowhere near the house on, before or after Christmas.

Iliana enjoyed putting bows on this present for her Papa and Mawmaw.

And she played Santa Claus at Grandma and Granpa's.

We had a great Christmas!

This morning was beautiful and foggy. I ran outside and made some pictures before heading into the studio to tackle some end of the year business.

Grant Park has some really old trees. Harry Callahan made a series of pictures here similar to this one a few decades ago.

I went up to Lake Lanier a few weeks ago after hearing about all the trash that is being exposed as the waterline recedes. With record low rainfall, all this stuff that's been at the bottom of the lake for years is now out in the open air. I found a little boat ramp that runs from a parking lot down to the shore; it's full length is on dry land. I walked the shore for a few hours collecting a variety of things.

I think this is a wine cooler. The seal was unbroken, so I unscrewed the cap and put my nose to the mouth of the bottle. It's still booze.

I was most disturbed by the number of batteries I found.

An old Pabst can.

Not surprisingly, there was a lot of fishing related debris.

What's a lake party without Solo cups?

I saw this in the water and used a stick to pull it within my reach. I thought it was a real telephone handset, but it's only a child's plastic toy.

I'd wager ten bucks that the owner of this shoe wore it without socks.

Mountain Dew bottle.

The Real Thing.

There were many variations on the homemade anchor. Many were cinder block anchors. I chose a brick one because it was lighter to carry back to my truck.

Another plastic child's toy. I wonder where the owner of this little Dumbo is now. All growed up, I guess.

I like the prominent plea for recycling on this old Pepsi can.

Not too many steel objects here. They break down pretty quickly in water.

The hook on this fishing lure is nearly rusted away.

I recognize the Anheuser/Busch mark on the bottle, but I don't know the brand.

Busted shades.

Party in a can.

I found all this wire near that old battery.

Remember when the Olympics came to Atlanta? When was that... eleven years ago?

This peeling foil label identifies the former contents of this bottle as Tequila Gold.
I'll recycle or dispose of all this stuff as properly as I can.
