Media day is the day when the players arrive for training camp. They have their physicals, headshots, and yearbook photos/advertising photos - that's where I come in. All of this takes place up at the Ice Forum in Duluth. We met up there at 5:45 a.m. to begin loading in. We shot more than 50 players over the course of the day.
That's Cannon, Peter and myself. Thanks to Kipp Howe for making these production shots with my DSLR!

The best spot for us is crammed between the wall and the ice rink. It's the only area with ceilings high enough for me to drop low and shoot up at the players. We wear warm clothes. Cannon wears a hoodie. That's Ransom back there in the pink scarf. She sprays water on the players to make them look all sweaty.

Jason from Atlanta Spirit is glad to be out of the office and hanging out with the team.

Matty is, too, I think....

We shot some really tight stuff this year. I got right up in their faces with my 80mm and an extension tube. It looks a little wide, but not too distorted. I think it suits the look we're going for.

I love my new P25+ back. I just upgraded from the P25.

That's our little set....

Cannon is on set with the color checker.

I think they cut this guy....
